MSTP Research and Training

Graduate Training Programs

The combination of a superb graduate education and one of the world’s most successful research enterprises is the signature of the Graduate School at UW–Madison. You also have the flexibility to pursue a PhD in many different degree programs; the list we provide is a representative sample. MSTP leadership has negotiated with most graduate programs to allow medical school courses to fulfill some requirements for the graduate degree, allowing more time for research.

Interdisciplinary Training Programs and Other Funding Opportunities

National Institutes of Health and Health Resources and Services Administration training grants at UW–Madison provide funding opportunities for training graduate students in scientific health-related research fields. MSTP students can earn a PhD in their chosen field and can be part of one of these interdisciplinary training programs to prepare for a career that has significant impact on the health-related needs of the United States.
