LCME Committees

LCME Task Force

The School of Medicine and Public Health LCME task force has ultimate responsibility for designing the self-study process and determining its objectives. Chaired by the senior associate dean for academic affairs, the task force sets the timetable for the completion of all LCME-related activities at the school, determines the membership and responsibilities of the LCME subcommittees and approves the final self-study summary report. Members include department chairs, statewide campus leaders, and leaders of the School of Medicine and Public Health Doctor of Medicine (MD) program.

LCME Subcommittees

Within the UW School of Medicine and Public Health, six LCME subcommittees are responsible for collecting data and completing the LCME Data Collection Instrument’s (DCI) standards and elements as assigned by the task force. These standards and elements are grouped by content area (e.g., student services, medical education or educational resources).

The subcommittees are chaired by leaders in the relevant content areas, and co-chairs include representatives from the Statewide Academic Campuses. Members are content experts and relevant stakeholders of the assigned DCI standards, including students, education leaders, department chairs and staff.

Each subcommittee prepares a report identifying the institutional strengths and opportunities for improvement related to the reviewed DCI standards.
