Support the PA Program
Your support and involvement helps the Physician Assistant (PA) program stay strong and growing! There are many opportunities to contribute to the success of our program and our students.
Get Involved
Getting involved with the Physician Assistant program gives you the opportunity for a clinical adjunct professor appointment with the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.
An adjunct appointment is just one great way for alumni to get involved and stay connected to the UW–Madison Physician Assistant program.

Additional Alumni Opportunities
Become a Preceptor
Recent graduates who are interested in becoming preceptors should have at least one year of clinical employment experience.
Become a Distance Education Mentor
Are you a PA practicing in a rural or urban area, and do you have first-hand experience with a specific population of practice? We encourage you to reach out to us and be connected with a student who could benefit from your mentoring. PA clinical mentors are needed for the distance students during their didactic training (first two years of their three years of training).
Provide Student Shadowing
There are a number of opportunities for alumni to interact with our current and prospective students. The program office operates a referral service for pre-PA students who are encouraged to shadow physician assistants in clinical practice so that they may become more familiar with the role of the physician assistant in the health care system.
Teach Guest Lectures
There are many opportunities to teach lectures to students during their didactic year. Contact us to learn more.
Assist With Clinical Skills Labs
Students in their didactic year complete various clinical skills labs. These include: suturing, casting, lumbar puncture and IV/injections. These labs are completed at the Health Sciences Learning Center in Madison and also at our partner clinics in Wausau.
Give Back
Your support makes an impact! Help improve the student experience for generations to come.
PA Student Scholarship Fund
This fund provides scholarships to accepted and enrolled students in the Physician Assistant program. Selection criteria are based on alignment with the program’s mission, academic achievement, service, leadership, and/or financial need.
