Gina Tranel is a dedicated simulation educator with the Clinical Simulation Program. Her commitment to simulation education began in 2013 when she started as a student intern at the UW Health Clinical Simulation Program. After earning her Bachelor of Science in nursing from Edgewood College, she joined UW Health on the D6/5 acute medical and progressive care unit while simultaneously serving as a part-time simulation educator.
In November 2018, Gina transitioned to a full-time role as a simulation educator and, in May 2021, she obtained her Master of Science in medical and health care simulation from Drexel University. She is particularly passionate about the development of simulation facilitators and has collaborated with Shannon DiMarco to design innovative simulation facilitator modules and in-person courses aimed at enhancing the quality of simulation education both within and beyond the program.
